Royal Barbie Dolls To Celebrate William And Kate’s 1st Anniversary

William and Kate Barbie Dolls

Out of all the William and Kate memorabilia we’ve written about before, this is definitely my favorite. I know that Mattel, the toy company, is just trying to make a buck off the royal “1st wedding anniversary,” but that doesn’t take away from how well done these Barbie dolls are.

Each one is strikingly like the really William and Kate on their wedding day. Everything including the Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen wedding gown, the sapphire engagement ring, the tiara and even William’s receding hairline is accurate.

A little funny tidbit is that Mattel used a standard Barbie face for the Kate doll, but they created a completely new face for William so they could showcase some of his more prominent features which he’s famous for (his teeth, his nose, his hairline). These go on sale all over the Internet in April to celebrate the couple’s first wedding anniversary. If you would like to preorder them now, you can do that for $100 at Barbie Collector. If you live in the UK, you can go to Amazon UK. If you would like to see some other ways companies celebrate the marriage of William and Kate, check out this refrigerator or this incredible Lego build.
