The Royal Wedding Built With 170,000 Legos

As the whole world gets ready for the latest royal wedding on April 29th, marketers everywhere are using the hype to their advantage. It seems we’ve seen Prince William and Kate Middleton’s faces on just about every product you can imagine. Just a few days ago I wrote about the William & Kate Commemorative Refrigerator. Can you even imagine having that thing in your kitchen?

Today I’m featuring a royal wedding inspired creation that, unlike most of them, I really like a lot. This is the royal wedding built entirely in Lego. But that’s not all, if you look really closely, you’ll see how these Lego figures actually resemble the real people who will be attending the wedding.

According to The Star, in this build, you can find Kate, William, Harry, the Queen, Paul McCartney, a pregnant Victoria Beckham and Elton John with his baby. Each one of these Lego people is built with 30-40 bricks. Do you see the whole crowd of fans surrounding Buckingham Palace as well? There were 10,000 Lego bricks just used to make the people. In addition to that, another 160,000 Lego bricks were used to build Buckingham Palace itself. Wow, that’s a total of 170,000 Lego bricks. What a creation! Legoland Windsor in England made this in celebration of not only the wedding, but also their own 15th birthday which is tomorrow. Thank you to my Twitter friend @mcourcel who showed this to me!
