Yay For Moms! Mommy Facts You Never Knew [Infographic]

My dear friend @gupshupblog always jokes that I’m his Twitter Mama. I’d like to think that I’m waaaaaay to young to actually be his mother (of course, right? lol) but his little nickname for me always makes me smile. Yesterday he sent me a DM on Twitter with the infographic below.

I’ve seen infographics about mommies before, but this one caught by eye because there are some facts on here that are astonishing to me. I can tell you from experience that being a mother is the hardest job on the planet (and the most rewarding). I only have one child, and I have my hands full with the mommy stuff. I look at some women who have three or four children, and I stare at them in amazement and with so much respect. In my eyes, they really do wear a cape and have superpowers. According to this infographic, full time working moms spend 13 hours a day working (whether it’s at the office or at home).

Also, rearing a child is expensive, at least here in the States. The average middle-income family will spend $7,000 on baby items before his or her first birthday, and $242,070 from birth to age 18. That number of course does not include university tuition. Hmm… Those figures seem a little low to me, but then again, I think I error on the side of spoiling Henry. I want him to have a good life full of fun memories. :)
