Deconstructing Disney: The Parts Of Legendary Cartoons

Every once in a while someone comes along who strikes a profound string that resonates throughout the world.  They mesmerize us with their magic and keep us astonished for the rest of our lives.  Walt Disney was one of those people, and his legacy will live on for the rest of eternity.  His way of capturing the fables of our inner child is just a small part of the magic he tapped into.  The aura of his discovery is still being used in pretty much every animated movie released, and that is unlikely ever to cease.  From the beginning, the magic came in the form of some simple strokes of a pencil.  However, in time, it grew to moving pictures that we came to call animations.  It’s amazing to see how far these animations have come since then.

The most recognizable characters Disney ever created were of course Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, Goofy and their friends.  All three of these characters have their own special place in our hearts and in our childhoods, but do we ever think about what it took to create these magical personalities?

Markus Hofko, designer of this marvelous series, decided that he wanted to look into the way these characters were built up so we could better understand what really lies behind the worldwide magic.  In this ultimately interesting series of deconstruction images, you get to see the building blocks of the characters we have all laughed with and cherished through our lives.  Now try to deconstruct Batman, Spiderman or the Hulk this way.  Nope, not possible.  Magnificent!
