Original & Fun Yarn Bombing To Brighten Your Day With Colors

Almost a year ago, I wrote an article about Yarn Bombing. At the time, it was a relatively new global graffiti phenomenon where people all over the world were having fun decorating public spaces with yarn. As you probably know, yarn bombing is the activity credited with making knitting cool again. When yarn bombers put their creations on fences, trees, benches, poles and all over the place, they are usually enjoyed by the other people who use that space.

The creations used for yarn bombing don’t have to be anything fancy. Sometimes it’s just a simple collection of colorful yarn strands, and sometimes it’s an intricate design that obviously took a long time to knit. The designs truly cross the spectrum from super simple to super intricate, and they all look fun to me. I wish there was more of this in Atlanta where I live.

I thought it would be fun to post some yarn bombing pictures since they are always happy and fun. These came from the website of Magda Sayeg. Magda works full-time on yarn bombing commissions, and her goal is to encourage others to create and participate. If you’d like to learn more about Magda, just click over to her site to see a whole world of yarn bombing loveliness. She is currently working on decorating part of the Etsy headquarters. Very cool!
