How To: Make a Beating Origami Heart for Your Valentine

Valentine’s Day will be here soon, and if you are like most people, you haven’t yet figured out the perfect gift for your sweetheart. We tell our sweeties all year long how much we love them, but then the one day comes when we are supposed to show them with a gift, and suddenly it gets all stressful.

A lot of men believe that in order for their gift to be considered a good one, it has to cost a lot of money. I know for some women that might be true; however, in my opinion, that is not the case. As a matter of fact, some of the best gifts I have ever received in my lifetime are hand-made gifts from the heart. Those are the ones we keep forever, along with all the special memories.

We love papercraft on Bit Rebels, and we write a lot about origami. I think it would be so romantic to get a red origami heart for Valentine’s Day, and you can find tutorials about how to fold that kind of heart all over the Internet. However, when you are a geek like me, you like to take everything to a higher level. What’s one step better than an origami heart? An origami heart that beats! Now that’s what I’m talkin’ about baby! This little beating heart is so precious. I’m going to try to make one of these myself this weekend just for fun. What a nice way to say, “I love you!
