I love meat. I can eat any kind of meat, preferably rare, everyday. I know it’s controversial and a lot of people I know think it’s wrong, but I am definitely a carnivore. It’s just who I am. I remember when I wrote this article called How To: Kill A Lobster In A Humane Way, I got a ton of nasty comments. I even had someone write me a scathing email and then unfollow and block me on Twitter because of it. But what can I say? I’m just not one of those “salad-eating delicate girls.” I’m more of a chicken wings and beer kind of girl.
So when I found out that the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) officially recognizes a photographer as a “meatographer” because he’s so good at photographing meat, I had to find out who this person is. Dominic Episcopo is his name, and of course, he’s from Jersey. One of his most famous projects is one he’s been working on for several years called the “United Steaks of America.” He butchered and sculpted a piece of steak in the form of every state, and his work is deliciously exquisite. And, in case you are wondering, yes, he cooked and ate every single piece of meat he photographed. That’s what I’m talkin’ about! Nom Nom!
