Creative Weekend Project: DIY Shabby Chic Drink Coasters

Coasters seem way more popular online than in real life to me. I see creative coaster designs all the time online, but I don’t really use coasters in my own house very much, do you? Maybe that’s just because my furniture isn’t fancy enough to get damaged by a frosty glass. When I saw these super cute DIY coasters that have a shabby chic look to them, I knew I had to show you because they seem like they’d be a lot of fun to make.

You barely even need any supplies to do this, so it would be a great project for anyone (not just people with a craft drawer full of goodies) and even kids. The first thing you’ll need to do is choose what artwork you’d like to put on your coasters. If you find something online, which is what I would probably do, you can just print it and use that paper. The idea is to transfer the artwork to the coaster itself.

These were created by the very talented sisters, Whitney and Ashley, who are the bloggers behind Shanty 2 Chic. If you click over to their article DIY Coasters and Free Printables, you will get the complete tutorial, materials needed and artwork printables (if you want to make these same exact ones). What a fun idea! If you would like to see more creative coasters, click over to the Star Wars Coasters, Floppy Disk Coasters, Tea Bag Coasters, and my other favorite, Sliced Bread Coasters.
