Sketching is my favorite hobby. Doodling makes me relax and keeps me inspired. I always carry a sketch book, a pencil and an eraser with me. I doodle anything that catches my fancy. I also love sketching because it’s fun and there are a lot of ways you can express yourself when it comes to sketching freehand. You don’t need to be confined to just using a pencil.
You can actually sketch using markers, pens, plain ball point pens, crayons and water color pencils. You can also stylize your drawings by creating images and using colors to bring out the beauty in them. The ones I have included in this post are works of art created by different artists. They did it via sketch then rendered. You can see the different styles that they have incorporated in their works.
The last two (2) drawings are mine. I did one that I call the tweet baby birds with their mama and one is a sketch of our blind cat Bitty. One was done in pencil and water color pencil, and the other was done in pure pencil. Whenever I feel I need to draw inspiration, I always check out the works of other designers or I just bring out my art materials and start doodling.
