A Look At Our World In Full Color

I was in Hong Kong May 21 – 23 and I noticed that things looked so different at daytime and nighttime compared to what I’m used to. I was wondering what caused the difference and it dawned on me that the big difference really was the color. The city lit up in color at night, and it makes everything so vibrant.

I cannot imagine a world without color. Close your eyes and imagine looking at everything in black and white. Don’t get me wrong, I like black and white, but thinking of a world that lacks color makes everything look dull and monotone. What is color?

Color or colour (see spelling differences) is the visual perceptual property corresponding in humans to the categories called red, green, blue and others. Color derives from the spectrum of light (distribution of light energy versus wavelength) interacting in the eye with the spectral sensitivities of the light receptors. Color categories and physical specifications of color are also associated with objects, materials, light sources, etc., based on their physical properties such as light absorption, reflection, or emission spectra. By defining a color space, colors can be identified numerically by their coordinates.

Photographers have a way of capturing beautiful pictures, and they seem to be able to manipulate the colors through the magic of their lenses. I have put together some beautiful inspiring photographs that portray our world in full color. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have enjoyed putting them together.
