There are tons of weight loss apps and gadgets out there to help us manage our weight, but as of now, there hasn’t been a device that can track your individual metabolism and report it to you on your smartphone so you’ll know whether or not you are actually losing weight. This breathalyzer, called Breezing, is the world’s first portable metabolism tracker.
If you’ve ever dieted, you might know the frustration from counting your calories all week only to find you didn’t lose any weight. It just happens sometimes. Of course, at times that happens because our scales are being mean and they aren’t calibrated correctly, but mostly it happens because we need to increase our metabolism so we can burn more of those calories.
The Breezing breathalyzer doesn’t just track your metabolism though. It also tracks you body’s energy source (whether you are burning carbs, fats, etc.), your total body energy expenditure, your metabolic history over time so you can see changes and your weight history as you progress. This little handheld breathalyzer connects to your smartphone via Bluetooth to report all of these stats to you whenever you want them.
All you have to do to get all these measurements about your body is to breathe into the breathalyzer. That’s it. It’s not complicated. If only losing weight were as easy as that. Perhaps this will make it easier for a lot of people.
This little breathalyzer is currently in the development stage, and the Breezing team of researchers and engineers is seeking funding. Their app is ready for Android, but they need funding to be able to develop the iPhone app. They are currently running a campaign here on Indiegogo to raise $100,000.
