R2-D2 Guitar Build For The Sci-Fi Rockstar

r2-d2-rock-guitar-build

It’s time once again to open that sci-fi door and see what could possibly be behind it this time around. We have come to learn that people really like to make things that combine their favorite hobby with a real life item. In this particular case, that would be Star Wars and a guitar. Well, it is really R2-D2 that is in the focus and will take on a new form as an R2-D2 guitar for sci-fi rockstars to rock out on. As always, it’s a bit of a pain to find some real information about the actual build or how it was carried out. Usually we are exposed to the finished result, and that is pretty much it. But then again, as soon as we see it has to do with Star Wars, most of us are bound to check it out anyway.

This particular build comes from an artist who simply calls himself Doug. In an attempt to step away from sketches, which is what Doug usually creates, he set out to create the ultimate geek rock guitar. With a brief explanation, Doug has managed to create what I think most of us would like to put on our wall or take with us up on stage. The R2-D2 guitar is a thing of beauty and is sure to make any Star Wars fan drool.

This R2-D2 guitar first came to life as a sketch. Doug later decided that his R2-D2 guitar had spawned so much inspiration that he set out to create it in the real world. The result is anything but boring, but as always, it is hard to really know what it sounds like. Creating an instrument is not exactly the easiest thing to do, but by the looks of it, this R2-D2 guitar could hold its own on a stage in front of thousands of screaming fans. The question is though, will you be able to get your hands on one of these badboys or is the R2-D2 guitar just a one man show? I guess only time will tell.
