Laptop Design Inspired By Star Trek Just For Trekkies

laptop-design-star-trek-inspired

I’m not usually impressed by themed laptops since they usually seem gimmicky, but there is something about this one that I really like. It’s probably because it’s inspired by one of the best franchises of all time. If you’re a trekkie, you will like this laptop design since it will allow you to take a piece of Star Trek with you wherever you go. I wouldn’t use this as my primary laptop, but it would be fun to have on the weekends while drinking coffee and surfing.

This dual-screen laptop design will put the Star Trek control panel right in your hands, well, at least from a design perspective. It was designed to be like two separate iPads that can attach together to make one laptop. It’s bright colors and bold shapes were taken directly from the Star Trek control panel interface.

This Star Trek inspired laptop design concept was conceived by Philipp Schaake from Sensid Studio. It’s called the Crowd Notebook (why do all the coolest concepts have the most boring names?). Seeing this laptop makes me excited all over again to see Star Trek technology become a reality. With as fast as technology is progressing, some of those complex technologies may become real before we know it. You can read more about that at The Science Behind Star Trek Technology.

I just watched a documentary yesterday about the advances in time travel, and the scientist demonstrated it with two gadgets. One sent a message to the other a few minutes in the past, and that second gadget acknowledged that message before the original one was sent. I’m sure as I learn more about that, I’ll be writing about it. Technology, quantum physics and science are beautiful things, and with this laptop design, you can be Captain Kirk, well, sort of.

I am a big fan of Conceptual Technologies because they showcase the hunger for brilliant technology and the creativity of man in making amazing things for the common good. There is so much to consider to this laptop like its specs, hardware and so on but what leaves me in awe is the sleek futuristic design. We cannot say that this is far from reality because as we all know, Lenovo and Apple has done big leaps to further enhance our current technology.
