Is it twittering or tweeting?

Personally, I tend towards “tweet” as a verb because, if anything, it’s more compact and trips off the tongue easier than the equivalent “twitter”. Mind you, the past tense “twittered” sounds better than “tweeted”. It depends on the context.

Twittering is being involved with Twitter(setting up, signing in, reading tweets, checking links, etc.) or twittering your life away. Tweeting is typing and sending messages via Twitter.
