iKini: The Solar Powered Gadget Charging Bikini

Charge Gadgets With iKini

I don’t usually take my gadgets to the pool or the beach. It’s enough of a challenge for me to keep them safe and sound on dry land, not to mention adding water of any kind. However, for the ladies out there who like to take their iDevices to the water with them, I’d like to introduce you to the latest technology fashion design which you might find useful.

This iKini is a bikini that charges your gadgets while you sit in the sun. Designer Andrew Schneider developed this creation by hand-combining 40 paper-thin flexible photovoitaic film strips, USB connectors and conductive thread. Each bikini has four pockets (which are relatively hidden) which can charge an iPhone, iPod, or whatever other small gadgets you want to take with you. Although supposedly it’s okay for the iKini to get wet while it’s charging our devices, I still wouldn’t dive in the pool with my iPhone attached if you know what I mean.

Andrew spends 80 hours creating each iKini, and he sells them for about 200 bucks. If you would like to order one, you can go here. Men, don’t worry, he’s cookin up something good for you too. He’s in the process of developing an iDrink, which are swim trunks capable of chilling a can of beer. Dang, I want a combination of both of these. How about a bikini that chills beer? That sounds perfect to me!
