If Social Media Sites Were Real Addictions [Chart]

Twitter Facebook Google Are Addicting

We often hear people joke around that they are addicted to their social media sites. To those of us who hear that everyday (because we ourselves are addicted), it’s really just a way of life. It’s no big deal, right? To people who aren’t on their computer all day long with a window minimized for Facebook, Twitter and Google+ like many of us, we seem like a bunch of insane drones, oblivious to the world around us.

What if all our favorite social media sites really were like a substance abuse addiction? Since I’ve never done drugs (wait, does drinking beer count? If so, oppppps), it seems like social media is a way healthier addiction. Think about it. If you had to choose something to be addicted to, wouldn’t social media be the best choice? I mean, at least Twitter isn’t going to do this horrible thing to our faces, right?

Artist Patrick Moberg created this little chart below which illustrates… Well, you can see for yourself. This is really cute! Patrick wrote about Twitter, “Fucking anyone is your friend. Yuppies do it on their iPhone. Cheap. Short. Fruitless.” Patrick, you are obviously following the wrong people. Give me three days, and I’ll have your ass addicted to Twitter. Oh, and we aren’t yuppies, we are geeks, get your stereotypes right buddy! :)
