This Is What A Google Glass Experience Might Be Like At The Airport

There are still a lot of people who don’t understand the purpose of Google Glass, the augmented reality head-mounted display developed by Google. I’m not one of them. I’m one of the people who is dying to try them out firsthand. I have a feeling they’ll be one of those gadgets that we’ll get addicted to quickly.

Google Glass has the potential to be one of those things that we look back on in five years and wonder what we ever did without it. The iPhone was like that for a while, and Google Glass could be the next innovation on that level.

There are a lot of other people who are as excited about it as I am. It was interesting to read about the Google Glass eBay Auction that got up to $15,000 before finally being taken down. It was an auction put up by someone who claimed to have been one of the people selected in the “If I Had Glass” Google promotion.

If you want to read more about the everyday applications for Google Glass, this article on NY Times called Sergey Brin Explains Google Glasses is very insightful. As you know, Google has been asking people how they would use Google Glass. What would you do with those glasses if you had them? JetBlue airlines answered that question on their Google+ page saying they “would continue to help the world view air travel through a whole new lens.”

These are the pictures they uploaded to show what a Google Glass experience might be like at the airport. You’d be able to check to see if your flight is on time, where your baggage claim carousel is, whether or not there is room in the parking deck, what the cab fare estimate would be, etc. All I can say is, wow, I can’t wait!
