Forget Coffee…Get Caffeine From Your Toothbrush Each Morning Instead

This is one of those ideas that when I read about it, I thought, “Doh! That makes so much sense.” If you are like millions of people in the world, you find it hard to function in the morning without at least one cup of coffee. I barely drink coffee anymore since I’m down to about one Caramel Macchiato a month. But, that doesn’t mean I don’t crave caffeine. I still find ways to get caffeine into my body every day. Wouldn’t it be great if we could get it through our toothbrushes?

Imagine this…You go into the bathroom in the morning, half asleep, and your reach for your toothbrush. Then about five minutes later, you have a pep in your step since you got a good dose of caffeine into your body while you were brushing your teeth. Sounds like a great idea, right? Well, it could be a reality sooner than you think.

According to ABC News, Colgate may be planning a caffeinated toothbrush, or not. What this means is that according to the patents Colgate has applied for; they are keeping their options open to create all kinds of different toothbrushes. This might not only include a way we could get caffeine from our toothbrushes, but also a line of other flavors and chemicals (apple, lemon, mint, etc.) and even a chewable toothbrush.

The thing is, if Colgate doesn’t create such a toothbrush, the chances are someone else will do it sooner rather than later. If you want to get caffeine in another crazy way, you might consider picking up a pack of Wrigley’s Alert Gum. One stick is equivalent to half a cup of coffee. Well, you can try that gum if you can find it. It was released in April, but then they halted production just a month later in May after facing so much pressure from the FDA.
