Do You Talk Too Much? | This App Will Show You

I talk on the phone almost all day long, and the ironic thing is, I don’t like talking on the phone. I think that is why I’m such a Twitter addict. I’m a big fan of short succinct thoughts and sentences that don’t cater to people that like to go on and on and on.

One of the most annoying things in the world is talking to someone that won’t stop talking long enough for you to even reply. For me, it is hard to even listen to those people; my mind tends to wander to other things.

Now there is an app that might possibly shut the pie hole of those long winded people (borrowing the words of the brilliant @CTK1 from here). Introducing: The Talk-O-Meter iPhone app. Hell yeah!

According to http://www.talk-o-meter.de/e/, “The iPhone is placed between two people having a conversation and it learns to separate the two voices. At intervals of 1, 2 or 5 minutes you’ll see different lengths of red and blue bars that show what percentage of time each speaker was talking. Nobody has to be unpleasantly exhorted – from time to time everyone will have a cursory glance at the Talk-o-Meter and adapt if he is talking too much. Gentle biofeedback works.”

You can click on http://www.talk-o-meter.de/talkometer_en/ to view the Talk-o-Meter manual which explains exactly how to use it, including how to calibrate the voices. I could also see this being used for other applications like first dates, job interviews, office lunches, there are a million different uses for this app and I love it!
