Mashups inspired by The Kiss

Pop Culture Work Inspired By Gustav Klimt’s “The Kiss”

The Art Nouveau masterpiece titled “The Kiss” was painted by Austrian Symbolist artist, Gustav Klimt. The work was completed between 1907-1908, during the height of Klimt’s ”Golden Period,” where he produced a number of works of a similar style. The painting is on a square canvas. It’s created with conventional oil paint mixed with layers of gold leaf. It is one of today’s most recognizable works with plenty of reproductions available–many of them with the negative space to the right and left of the two central figures removed. What is left is ...

C-3PO Has A Huge Robo-Boner: A Real Star Wars Trading Card

I can’t believe there has been an ongoing urban legend about this for decades, and I’m just now finding out about it. In case you haven’t heard about it either, it’s such a funny story, and it could possibly be the world’s best Star Wars prank ever. Do you see that image of the C-3PO trading card – yeah, the one where C-3PO is sporting the huge boner? That was an official Star Wars card that was released in 1977. Throughout the years, many people thought ...

Star Wars Takes Over Pac-Man, Space Invaders & Donkey Kong

What could be better than a Star Wars mashup with some of our favorite retro video games? Not much. I’m about to rock your world and take your brain on a mind trip back to the ’80s, complete with Jabba, the Death Star, a fleet of stormtroppers, and little itty-bitty Millennium Falcons all ready to kick your butt. Matt Cowen, the artist behind the blog A Study In Geek, redesigned Pac-Man, Space Invaders, Asteroids and Donkey Kong as if they were Star Wars games. Each one ...

Insane 8-Bit Character Compilation From Our Favorite Cult Movies

It’s never easy to have great expectations when it comes to reboots and sequels to movies that we’ve loved for a long time. It’s like trying to justify a dessert when you are still eating a delicious meal. It’s just not right, and it surely isn’t very timely. However, there have been several examples of movies that have actually delivered more than what was expected. It’s usually a rule that sequels won’t be able to match the previous movie’s grandeur and awesomeness. You simply can’t build ...

The Highlights Of Stars Wars Explained In 10 Little Graphics

Believe it or not, there are some people in the world who don’t understand how or why we love Star Wars so much. They are people who watch it once and say, “So what’s the big deal?” I can’t understand that at all, but I can respect that everyone is different. To me, not liking Star Wars is similar to not liking chocolate. I mean, really? Sometimes when things are presented in a visual way, they make more sense. I know they do for me anyway. ...

Realistic R2-D2 3D Cake Complete With Sound Module

I love the trend towards transparency that is becoming more and more apparent online. There’s evidence of it everywhere, and even here at Bit Rebels, we try to be as transparent as possible. When you can be open and accepting to all ideas and share without holding back, it really does open the door to building a real community. Some people may love you and others may hate you, but at the end of the day, if you’re still there, that’s what counts. Being transparent doesn’t ...

7 Eggstraordinary Star Wars Easter Egg Designs

You know we couldn’t let Easter go by without slipping in an Easter/Star Wars mashup of some kind, right? I just couldn’t resist these super cute and very funny little Star Wars Easter egg designs. Traditionally, Easter eggs are simply dyed bright pastel colors. These days though, nobody follows the boring traditions anymore, even when it comes to coloring Easter eggs. It seems like the more creative, the better, and that’s just the way we like it. This year I’ve seen so many unique techniques for ...

Star Wars Condom Designs: May The Condoms Be With You

After seeing so many fun condom creations over the years, I don’t even think of condoms as being used in their traditional sense anymore. I think of them as more of a prop for snarky, silly designs. As a matter of fact, I think I’ll start a Pinterest board today for condom designs. If you want to see some good ones, click over to the Condom Dress, Condoms For Gaming Geeks and Company Logos On Condoms. As a special treat, today’s condoms aren’t just condoms, they ...

Stormtroopers and Zombie Mashup

Death Troopers: A Bloody Stormtroopers & Zombie Mashup

After reading Richard’s article yesterday about all the failed predictions for the end of the world, it got me thinking about how exactly the world could conceivably end. If you got to choose how the world ends, how would it all play out? What would end up being the demise of this planet and humanity? Would it be some sort of weather phenomenon, a catastrophic disaster, a biblical prophecy or maybe even a zombie attack? As morbid as it may sound, there is a smorgasbord of ...

Star Wars Death Star Cake

DIY Star Wars Inspired Death Star Cake

There is nothing that describes awesomeness more than serving a Star Wars inspired cake at a party. I take that back. Serving beer in a retro arcade game modded into a beer cooler/keg, which we’ve featured before, might be number one on the list. However, a Star Wars cake is definitely up there in geeky goodness. Seeing a Star Wars cake and getting directions for how to make one on your own are two very different things. I don’t really like writing about them unless they ...

What a delicious way to start off a Saturday morning prior to a Star Wars film marathon. Available in sets of familiar figures as well as various vehicles from the film franchise, these novelty pancake molds are a must have for any true fan. Honestly, who wouldn’t want to pour on the syrup and dig into a stack of fluffy Darth Vader head pancakes? Alright, I suppose if you are not a pancake fan, you could try to use them to make interesting omelet shapes, but there’s ...

Wheres Waldo Star Wars Illustration

Where’s Waldo: Star Wars, Batman, TARDIS, Spock & Lego Man Style

I think one reason why Where’s Waldo has stayed popular for so many years is because it’s one of the few puzzles that when you find the answer, you are left with such polarizing emotions. It’s really a bizarre feeling. On one hand, you feel a huge sense of accomplishment because you’ve just spent what feels like forever searching for that little guy. On the other hand, you feel a huge sense of desperation and exhaustion for the same reason, because you just spent what feels ...
