The Next Step in Social Media

To me, it sometimes feels like the whole Social Media and Web 2.0 concepts are stagnating a bit. Not too many new ideas are surfacing and the “Gurus” of Social Media are constantly going on and on about the same things over and over again. It’s like we’re waiting for someone to say something important. In my opinion, it’s us that are driving Social Media. It is us that are taking the necessary steps to further develop and incorporate Social Media where we feel it should go. As a web designer, I feel it is a great opportunity presented to me and I am surprised that not more designers feel the same way.  Instead they are staying in their comfort zone to make sure they follow the stream wherever it may be heading.

So, where does Bit Rebels foresee Social Media heading in the future? Well, as of today we’re trying out a new way for our visitors to join in on the conversation of our articles. We think Social Media is so much more than just commenting and pushing text to each other.  With our new feature here on Bit Rebels, you will be able to record your own voice or video comment directly here in the articles. If you all join in, it will become this ongoing conversation where you really see the people interacting. I am taking the first step towards that by having recorded an introduction video about where we at Bit Rebels foresee Social Media heading in the future and the impact it will have on the design and web design community.

As you will be able to understand from the video clip, we are using an up-coming service called “SnazL” and even though it is in its infancy right now, it packs some heavy and cool features. The user interface is quite straight forward and I urge you to play around with it for five minutes and I am sure you will become more than familiar with how to use it.

SnazL” is a great first step towards true interactivity, and at this point, the only way you’ll understand its true power is to sign up and use it for yourself. It’s instantly updating whenever someone is adding their thoughts to it. Also, you are able to embed it on your own website if you want to always be able to see the latest additions. So, ultimately it is a great way to have a continuous and ongoing conversation about the subjects that you are passionate about.

Subscribe to our first “SnazL” and join the future by adding your thoughts to it. Let’s take the next step towards the ultimate Social Media experience.
