How To Become A YouTube Partner In 5 Easy Steps [Infographic]

If there was one social site that I wish I was more active on, it would have to be YouTube. I have a wimpy channel with two or three videos posted. I know, it’s totally lame. I have over 100 videos stored on my iPhone, but for whatever reason, I just never upload them to the site. I remember a few months ago, Dick Strauss, one of our guest authors here on Bit Rebels, wrote an article about how you can Make Money From Your YouTube Content. It explained how YouTube recently changed their partner eligibility for 20 countries, and how everyone in those countries can now monetize their YouTube accounts.

There are probably tons of success stories from this program already. One of the most famous ones is Charlie Bit My Finger – Again. Back in April, it was reported that the family who created that video had earned $158,000. But now, three months later, that video has a mind boggling 465,297,317 views, so I wouldn’t be surprised if that dollar amount is over $200,000 at this point.

If you would like to become a YouTube partner and start monetizing your account, it can be tough to know where to start. One thing you’ll definitely want to do is read the FAQs. Another tool which might be helpful is this well put together infographic called 5 Easy Steps To Become A YouTube Partner, which was created by Come Scaricare Musica da YouTube. Obviously this oversimplifies the process just a tad, but the basics are all here.

I especially like number 1 which says, “Mind the first 15 seconds.” That is so true! Regardless of how good the middle of a YouTube video is, if the beginning is boring, I won’t use it in my articles here at Bit Rebels. You can usually tell when a big brand has created the video because since they aren’t usually well connected in the social media community, they are many times clueless about what makes content go viral – so they put a long intro in the beginning of their videos because that’s more of the traditional style of marketing. Then they wonder why it didn’t do well. I hope you find this helpful!
