Talk Kitty To Me: A Caturday Dictionary For Kitten Lovers

Caturday doesn’t seem to be slowing down, and it trends every Saturday on Google+. There are cat circles and cat communities popping up all over the place!

Wired Magazine recently discussed the cat phenomena in their article In Search of the Living, Purring, Singing, Heart of the Online Cat-Industrial Complex. According to that article, “The Internet’s preference for cats runs so deep that when Google’s secretive X Lab showed a string of 10 million YouTube images to a neural network of 16,000 computer processors for machine learning, the first thing the network did was invent the concept of a cat.”

How can you fit in with the in Caturday crowd? By talking the talk, of course. This isn’t to be confused with How To Speak lolcat which I’ll save for a whole other article.

Can’t take anymore talk of kittehs? This two-minute cat video is the purrfect antidote to kitteh overload. According to Vimeo, “In this short film about a cat’s hunt for approval, director Sam Huntley discovered it’s not as easy as it looks to crank out a cat video. The cat literally wouldn’t do a single thing we wanted it to.” Enjoy this juicy tidbit.
