How to Effectively w00t

If you are on Twitter, are a geek, a gamer, or following any of us Rebels, you have heard and probably even used the word “w00t!” Its a term that is Twittered from the Philippines to Hollywood. So, what the heck is a w00t? “Woot” is a term used by many online junkies as a quick way to express “like” or “awesomeness” in a statement or phrase.  (my own definition) Where did “woot” originate? How did such a silly term get so popular? OK, all […]

Get Inspired! | Fascinating Flickr Favs

Creative people are always looking for new sources of inspiration. I have a ritual that inspires me every day, and if I may, I would like to share it with you. I usually wake up very early in the morning. I sit in the darkness, at my computer, with a blanket draped over my legs. My dog is usually snuggled up at my feet trying to steal some warmth. The first website I always go to is http://www.flickr.com/. I look at the new photographs added […]

Google Goggle for Android Phones

Google Goggles is a visual search app for Android phones. Instead of using words, take a picture of an object with your camera phone: we attempt to recognize the object, and return relevant search results. Goggles also provides information about businesses near you by displaying their names directly in the camera preview. Google is tapping into the growing popularity of social networking by integrating tweets and Facebook updates into its search results, as it enables users to screen for the web’s freshest content. The new […]

Water Babies, a dreamy tale

Zena Holloway is best known for her dreamy underwater photographs of celebs, supermodels and athletes. Her images are highly sought after by magazines, ad campaigns and editorials. She recently completed a 2 year project of “The Water Babies,” a book inspired by  Charles Kingsley’s 1863 classic tale. Holloway’s photographs were beautifully overlaid with illustrations by Heidi Taylor. I’ve included a handful of captivating images. You can order the book and look at more here. Holloway got her start not as a photographer, but as a scuba […]

Awesome Window Installation!

Here is a brilliant way a designer has incorporated movement and expression with fashion. How to collaboratively write a blog post using Google Wave

Richard Darell: So, I invited my friend and colleague Fernando Fonseca (@fjfonseca) to try a new approach when writing articles for Bit Rebels. So far I have always written my articles by myself but I haven’t given topics and suggestions to other writers at Bit Rebels when time just haven’t been there for me. In an attempt to create a sense of a more lively climate at Bit Rebels I thought this could be a way to connect with some of the writers and get […]

Words emerge all the time that slightly makes it harder for novice Internet users to stay along with a conversation and it’s most important to update yourself every now and then. It ain’t always the best thing to keep blasting out the same “Geek Speak” that were used about a […]
