How To: Get Out Of Bed When Your Alarm Goes Off

What is it about clocks? I just realized today that we’ve written a lot of articles on Bit Rebels about clocks. Is it because our entire lives are mandated by what time it is?

That is one of the reasons I don’t wear a watch. It is my subtle way of giving time the finger so I can be free to do what I want when I want. Of course, with client meetings and other obligations, many times my life is still scheduled according to the time.

Today I would like to show you an interesting alarm clock that my friend @tyippie shared with me. The cute creativity in this electronic piece of wonderment is definitely worthy of Bit Rebels. Are you one of those people that turns off the alarm clock in the morning and then falls back to sleep? This clock, called a clocky, can help with that dilemma.

Clocky is like a pet alarm clock. It allows you to hit snooze in the morning ONE TIME for up to 9 minutes. If you don’t get up after that, it does a high flying (up to 3 feet) jump off your nightstand and starts rolling around the room. Clocky forces you to get out of bed and chase it down to turn it off. The only way to keep it from doing this is to find a screwdriver and take off the wheels.

I don’t think I could ever own one of these. I’m not a big fan or morning torture. It would probably annoy the hell out of me and I would throw it out the window. However, I can see how it would be a fun way to wake up for some people.
