We’ve written about lots of different ways to sprinkle glorious geekdom on all aspects of our lives, but we haven’t touched on it like this before. Wouldn’t it be nice to give the birds in your backyard a little taste of what the geek lifestyle is like? Now you can with these ultimately geeky handmade birdhouses.
Ben Mayer, otherwise known as NirdHaus on Etsy, hand paints and sells all kinds of very interesting birdhouses in his Etsy store. The R2-D2 is definitely my favorite one, and he even comes with an LED optical unit built into the design. C-3PO is pretty sweet too.
It’s amazing to me how Ben is able to capture the personality of each character in the birdhouses he builds. For example, the C-3PO design is so simple, yet you can actually see the essence of C-3PO in it. Now you have the chance to geekify the inside and the outside of your house. I’ve been looking for a TARDIS birdhouse for a while. I’ve seen some online, but none that are this high quality. I wonder if Ben would add that to his collection.
