Become A Photographer In 4 Simple Steps [Humor]

become-a-photographer-4-steps

It must be tough to be a professional photographer these days. The first iPhone was released in June of 2007, and that’s when everything changed. Before that, we only took pictures when we planned ahead and had our big, bulky cameras with us. I still have the Canon camera I used to carry around in my purse back then. It feels like it weighs five pounds. These days though, anyone can become a photographer…sort of.

That’s the thing – everyone thinks they can become a photographer, and from the looks of Facebook and Instagram, you’d think everyone was. However, here’s the difference. Taking pictures with a smartphone, although it’s cool when you have certain apps, does not take the place of a professional photographer. I still have the belief that professional photographers are way more skilled and talented than anyone will ever be with an iPhone. Not everyone agrees with me though, and that could be what inspired this humorous collection.

Photographer Thomas Vanden Driessche compiled a silly handbook that will teach just about anyone how to become a photographer in only 4 steps. Aside from the text full of sarcasm, there is something about seeing this as if it’s typed from an old fashioned typewriter that I really like. I only put a few of his “become a photographer in 4 steps” guides here, but you can view the entire handbook over on his website.

Of course, the “how to become a happy photographer” is my favorite as he figured out how to incorporate his family into his clever collection. So if you want to become a photographer, it won’t take much practice. Just choose which kind of photographer you’d like to become and follow the 4 steps. No wonder everyone thinks they are a photographer. He makes it look easy.
