A Taste of Mardi Gras | New Orleans Style

When I think of Mardi Gras, I think of masks, beads and beignets. I’ve been to the Mardi Gras Celebration in New Orleans many times and it is a wild and crazy party for sure. If you’ve never experienced it, I suggest you put it on your bucket list. You will see things there that you won’t see anywhere else in the world.

New Orleans is such a wonderful city with so much character and personality. Even though Mardi Gras does not officially start until February 16, the Krewe du Vieux parade “unofficially” kicked off the event last night in the French Quarter.

This year is extra special since on Sunday, February 7th, the New Orleans Saints will take on the Indianapolis Colts in the Super Bowl, so my guess is it will be the biggest party New Orleans has ever seen, a Mardi Gras/Super Bowl combination. My very dear friend, @joycecherrier, lives in New Orleans. I hope she will give us all a firsthand look at the fun this year.

If you can’t be at Mardi Gras, I’ve included a classic Mardi Gras Music Playlist here and a link to some live New Orleans Mardi Gras webcams here. You can get into the spirit of Mardi Gras from wherever you are in the world!

Thank you for the great pictures!
