Do you have trouble concentrating on the important tasks each day? Are you constantly interrupted by inbox notifications, social media updates, and the constant ringing from your smartphone? You are not alone! It’s the 21st-century technology plague that keeps you from being productive. Distractions are annoying, but there are things that you can do to ultimately boost your productivity and brainpower. In this article, we are going to take a look at a few ways you can block out the distractions and once again take control over your to-do list.
To regain your productivity doesn’t have to be a difficult endeavor. It doesn’t even have to be a closed door to the rest of the world. I could merely mean to limit the number of distractions by using simple tools that are already at your disposal. The reason we are not using them is that we are afraid that we are going to miss something important. However, the chance of that happening is rather slim.
I recently came across an infographic called “50 Productivity Tips To Boost Your Brainpower” created by Wrike. It lists 50 nifty ways you can block out distractions and regain your productivity and with it boost your brainpower.
Some of the more simple ways to regain your productivity involve putting your phone on silence, take regular breaks, and sit by the window to avoid artificial light. Also, keeping meetings to 15 minutes or shorter and delegate work are also great ways to regain your focus.
One of the more effective ways I know, and regularly use, to regain my productivity is to break big tasks into many different ones. There is nothing more daunting than to look at a list of big tasks that take a long time to wrap up. I much rather look at long list of tasks that don’t take a long time to do than to look at a list of big tasks that take forever to finish up. There is a certain degree of achievement crossing off tasks on a list. It gives you energy. This is why it’s always good to break big tasks into many different ones. It allows you to keep focusing and to keep your productivity at a high level.
