For several months now I’ve been watching many of my friends on Twitter tweet about snow. They talk about shoveling their cars out of snow and making paths to walk. Even my friend @SashaHalima, who primarily lives in Miami, just experienced her first snow storm when she was in New York City.
I live in the Southern part of the States and we don’t get snow very often. Some years we don’t get any at all. This year, it snowed on two days, but it melted away as soon as the sun came out. I see all the pictures that my friends tweet and I wish we had that kind of snow here. But, then again, the grass is always greener on the other side, right? ;)
I woke up this morning dreaming that I was in a different place, a place where I could go outside right now and feel the snow fall on my face and make a snowball. What’s the next best thing to experiencing snow? Writing an article about it of course!
I dedicate this collection of amazing snow pictures to all my friends on Twitter that, like me, live in a warm climate. The very first picture shown here is by Katrin Ray, who is very popular on Flickr. This photo recently won a very cool photo contest in Toronto, Canada. You can click here to read the press release. Yay Katrin! All the rest of these fabulous photographers are credited with their links at the bottom of this page. When I look at some of these pictures, it makes me realize that living in a place where there is a lot of snow would be like living on another planet to me. I think it would be fun to play in this snow. I’m reminded of this quote:
“The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time.” – Bertrand Russell
