Someone asked me the other day if I thought Scrabble was a geek’s game. I thought about it for a moment and said, “Not really, it’s more like a smart person’s game.” Since geeks are smart, I suppose that makes Scrabble a geeky game by default. It’s true though. Think about it. When you are in an intense Scrabble game, and you have the choice of playing “d-o-g” on regular squares or “a-q-u-a” on a triple word, which one do you think your brain will think of first? See, it’s a smart person’s game.

It was created by artist John Kahn, and since he only made 9, that not only makes it the largest Scrabble game in the world, it also makes it one of the most rare. Maybe it would be easier to just make our own. There are a lot of custom Scrabble games out there, and there is really no limit to how you can create it.
