Personally, I use Showdocument for online teaching and web conferencing. I’m not saying these programs aren’t good,
But I think a web-based application is always better, since there’s nothing to download or install.
try it at http://www.showdocument.com . -andy

It’s not to be compared to email. It’s a collaboration system/software.

Google Wave is built on three concepts:

- Google’s Hosted Conversation Platform
- The Google Wave API
- The Google Wave Federation Protocol

The Hosted Conversation Platform is what the above video discusses, the Wave API is what developers can use to build even more features into Wave, and the Federation Protocol is what will allow anyone, anywhere to set up a Wave server (removing the need for a wave.google.com account to use it).

There’s some more details of these as well as loads of screenshots of the current hosted platform’s interface here: http://www.geekology.co.za/blog/2009/10/review-of-google-wave-limited-preview/ . :)
