There is a war that the world is battling, and I am not talking about between us people. We have enough wars, and we shouldn’t be adding more. I am talking about the world, our home, our planet. It’s a constant war that has been going on since the beginning of time. It’s the kind that sort of never ends, and yet still it’s always there beneath our conscious minds. The world is constantly breaking down itself in order to build itself up again. That’s the kind of war I am talking about. Humans keep spoiling this beautiful, fruitful and so far only home we have at our disposal. We seem to do our best to litter, damage and destroy it.
For over two decades, the government dumped glass in MacKerricher State Park near Fort Bragg, California at the shoreline. It took them that long to understand that glass just doesn’t disappear when you drop it into the sea. However, nature stepped in and started the cleanup. Slowly but surely, with every wave that broke onto the beach, the razor sharp shards of glass were grounded down into small pebbles of smooth and artistic glass.
Mixed with a few rocks, these pebbles now look like a shimmering beach of constantly reflecting diamonds. When you walk on it, it won’t even do your soft feet any harm whatsoever. It’s the kind of beach that will have you mesmerized for hours, and if you thought sitting on the beach during sunset was beautiful, this beach will enhance that experience by about a thousand times. It literally lights up from the reflecting shards, and you are left with the sun and the shimmering beach around you. I don’t think I have seen anything like it ever before. It’s insanely beautiful! Sometimes nature knows exactly what to do with the mess we create. Isn’t that astonishing?
