Surfrider Foundation’s Sexy Calendar Is All About Pollution

Surfrider Foundation Yearly Pin-Up Calendar

The oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico has somewhat been washed out of our minds, and the people responsible can breathe a little easier now that they are not today’s news headlines. What we don’t think about is that there is still clean-up work going on, and it will take years if not decades before the flora of wildlife returns to its intended ecosystem. What we really should be doing is putting pressure on these companies to make them pay whatever price it takes to make their operations as close to 100% safe as they possibly can. It’s the world we’re talking about here, not some terrarium that we can just magically reset by changing out everything inside of it to have another shot at making it flourish.

To raise the awareness about these still very looming issues and to keep the elements and effects of the catastrophes that we are getting used to fresh, the Surfrider Foundation put together their yearly pin-up calendar. However, this time around, they chose a different path and decided to make us a little more aware that pollution really causes severe complications on our wonderfully blue planet.

The whole thing is really clever, and for everyone who likes pin-up calendars, this should totally be the perfect one since it will not only show you the beautiful ocean surroundings (hrm…), but also that pollution gets really sticky on the female body. Or, was that not the point here? Did I completely get this whole thing wrong? Well, I guess we see it from our own perspective. Jokes aside, this is as clever as they come, and I really like this approach to the whole pollution problem. Good going all of you at the Surfrider Foundation! Brilliant!
