As if LEGO builds couldn’t get any more epic, people are constantly trying to beat the almost impossible builds that have already been done. The technical skills that some builders exhibit is mind numbingly impressive and go far beyond the original intentions of a LEGO block. But there are few LEGO builds that can match or could even be compared to this LEGO replica build of a Porsche 911 convertible. Its technical implementations border on the insane.
The builder of this LEGO replica of a Porsche 911 convertible, who unveiled it in late 2011, is YouTuber Sheepo86. Every single feature of the car was implemented. Its realism goes as far as even replicating the exact workings of the engine, brakes, door locks and a whole lot more. The chassis might look a little bit sketchy, but you have to remember that we’re talking about a LEGO replica here and not some build created with perfectly rounded metal sheets.
This LEGO replica consists of nearly 3,500 parts, weighs 3.65 kg and is built using just original LEGO parts. It incorporates more than 7 meters of cable, and the builder has even gone as far as to make the engine have progressive acceleration. I could sit here all day typing out every single feature that this LEGO replica incorporates, but I think it would be better if you braced yourself and just watched the video instead.
The fact that every feature is graciously hidden within the LEGO replica’s chassis is nothing less than mind boggling. Seeing all these features in such a small area still working flawlessly makes you think LEGO really is the solution to everything. I keep wondering when we’ll see a real life-size functional car made entirely out of LEGO. Maybe there already is one. If anyone were to ever attempt that, I think such a feat would be quite hard to beat. The creative possibilities LEGO unleashes will forever progress beyond our wildest dreams. This LEGO replica of a Porsche 911 convertible should be proof enough of that. So what’s next? Does anyone know anything that could possibly beat this?
