Toys are something that most people will think about when they think about their childhood. However, they are so much more than something that you can play with as a kid. They are something that can be collected and admired no matter what your age, and as long as you can keep them in great condition they can actually be worth a lot of money someday. There are all kinds of collections that people look for, usually from some of their favorite movies, such as a high-quality Lightsaber from the iconic action movies.
Iconic Movies And Their Collectibles
Most of the television shows and movies that people watch on a daily basis are just something to watch to keep us entertained. There are, however, movies that come along that are so much more than just entertainment. To some, they are almost a way of life. They are a true fandom that people follow and love to share with others. They also find a lot of toys and collectibles from these movies that they can either put up on a shelf to show off or put away someplace safe to collect value.
One of the most iconic and greatest movies to hit theaters and have the fans clamoring to get merchandise is Harry Potter. People will buy wands and brooms that are exact replicas of the ones that are found in the movies. There are a lot of other things that can be found to collect as well but these are the main things most people look for. Star Trek is another iconic show that people will have collections for, such as com badges and tricorders to replica Starfleet uniforms.
Kids Are Going To Old School Toys
With the amount of technology that is pouring over the world today you would think that kids today would be glued to electronics playing video games. However, it seems that many children are finding that some of the old school games that we all enjoyed as kids ourselves can be quite enjoyable.
Many of us at one time or another in our childhood have enjoyed playing with Legos. This is one of the simplest of toys for children to play with and has been around for a very long time. A lot of children love the idea of being able to build huge structures and then tearing them down only to be able to build all new ones over and over again.
You will also find that children love to spend time with the family playing old school board games that we all used to love playing when we were young. Spending time as a family playing games is a great way to bond with your children and setting aside one night a week for a family game night would be great for any family.
The ever famous Monopoly is one of the greatest family games to have in the house. It can teach kids a way to handle money as well as have fun. There is also The game of life where your family creates their own families in order to get to the end of the game. There are also simple games for younger children such as chutes and ladders that is always a fun classic.
Another toy that has been around for a very long time that children today still enjoy is the iconic Barbie doll. She has not changed too much over the years. Her wardrobe has evolved with the times as well as the vehicles that she uses. However, the beloved doll is still around and going strong. Some of them if they were kept around and in good shape from when you were a child could be handed down to your children and could even be worth some money some day.
What Makes A Movie Top A List?
Everyone has their own ideas of what is or is not a great movie. Not everyone is going to have the same taste in movies and will never agree on what should be in a list of top movies. This is something that generates strong opinions and will vary greatly from one person to the next.
Some people may start a list with their favorite being Star Wars and adding things like American History X and ending with The Godfather. Interestingly enough, even some of these more dramatic motion pictures have their own toy lines, such as Don Vito Corleone produced by McFarlane Toys. In the end, it’s all a matter of taste when it comes to movies and toys alike.
