Mario’s Graffiti World: Mario & Family Redesigned In Graffiti

Mario-Redesigned-Tilt-Graffiti

A few months ago, I wrote about a graffiti artist named Tilt who designed a room he called the Panic Room for a hotel in France. It caught my attention because one half of the room (and everything in it) was completely white, and the other half was full of bright, loud, beautiful graffiti art. It had a whole left brain/right brain thing going on, and it was really inspiring. If you’d like to see the pictures, you can click over to Panic Room.

That graffiti artist who I’m starting to really like is back again, and this time with some Mario Bros. art. Tilt created his own graffitied version of Mario, Peach, Wario and Luigi in his own recognizable style. If you look closely (by enlarging the pictures), you’ll see that each one of these iconic characters is made up of words. Even the blue sparkle in Peach’s eyes is made up with letters. I don’t know what this blotchy effect in his art is called, but I’ve seen it before and I like it a lot.

According to Tilt, the words here speak of his past. His favorite colors to paint are blue, red and yellow so he completed Mario first, “then the family followed…” If you would like to purchase an 18×18 (big) print of any of these on fine art paper, you can click over to 1xrun. Although he finished this collection in April, they aren’t for sale quite yet. If you enter your email address on that link, you will be alerted when the release date is set.
