Marbelous: The Most Fun And Creative Dinner Table Yet

Marbelous Wooden Dining Table Design

During the chaos last week when I had to work from a crummy laptop, I had a lot of time since my dongle Internet connection was best at night and early in the morning (go figure). I had some time to go window shopping during the days. It was a neat experience to switch up the ole schedule a little and become a vampire for a few days. Don’t get me wrong, I worked pretty much all the time, but the fact that I HAD to achieve certain tasks before morning was not very relaxing. Well, that whole situation got solved, and now I am back at my ordinary workstation and quite thrilled about that. It was quite an experience, I can tell you that!

During this time, I managed to go through a couple of furniture stores, and as always, they were set up so you have to walk through them and see EVERYTHING. Yeah, IKEA is a great example of that. It’s like being guided around a maze just like a lab rat sometimes. Of course, I had to go through the kitchen section, and they had a few sets of kitchen tables. This has to be the area where we have seen close to no innovation at all in a very long time.

It sparked a thought in my head, and I had to check the Internet to see if there was anything that could be called a fun dining table. Today I actually think I found something that will make you marvel. Well, I would have actually wanted to say “marble” here, but that would have made for a really bad joke. The fact is that this table (I don’t really know if it is a dining table; however, it’s close) is created from the minds of Dutch designers Nathan Wierink and Tineke Beunders who go by the name Ontwerpduo. The table is made out of wood, and it is riddled with tracks where marbles can travel all the way to the floor. It’s quite relaxing to watch it, and even though it’s not very advanced, it still makes you wonder how the marbles are kept on their track through the legs all the way down. Brilliant!
