Introducing the iMaxi Pad! (You Knew This Was Coming)

03/09/2010 - 1:00 pm By Diana Adams

The moment we heard about the iPad, the jokes began, remember? So many people started calling it an iMaxi pad, and we all knew right then, someone was going to invent a maxi pad for the iPad, right? Someone has, and it’s hilarious. Introducing: The iMaxi Pad!

This iMaxi Pad is a cover for you iPad. It comes in white or blood red color (I know, this is just wrong) and it even has wings on the side. Its Velcro closure protects your iPad. It has a nice soft cotton interior to keep your iPad all warm and cozy.

You can buy all this geeky loveliness for only $40. This has got to be one of the most ridiculous inventions I’ve seen in a while. I know you are going to be shocked to hear this, but the red version of the iMax Pad is currently on back order. As if having fun with the name iPad wasn’t enough, we are all having fun with the jokes for this too. My favorite is on http://jay3091speaks.com which says:

“The iMaxi’s Velcro-latched, advanced wing design wraps snugly around your device, so your iPad always stays where it should. Best of all, it shields it from all those unsightly and embarrassing data leaks that would make any motherboard worry.”

Thank you to http://www.gizmodiva.com for the info and the photos!

Interesting idea, what-the-hell design, and I can only lay the ultimate blame for this at the feet of Apple. As I’ve said before, there are way better names, how could you NOT expect this. There is defining a product line by redefining a name and there is believing erroneously that your company can overcome any negativity brought to bear simply because you are A BIG COMPANY.

As for the color red, it is better than carrying around a pure white one, that’ll show dirt faster than anything. Once you’ve went down the road by naming your product ‘iPad’, really, what color would not have a negative connotation especially with this design?

I’d rather capture the imagination of possible consumers, not low-brow my way into their thoughts.

But that is just me.

Thanks for the article Diana, let’s just be thankful we aren’t being forced to commit seppuku for insisting on this name.

You have to wonder if Apple got their idea from this comedy skit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsjU0K8QPhs&feature=player_embedded

Haha! That is awesome! Also, I meant to tell you after seeing your pic on the rainbow article, you have a twitpic for everything, don’t you? I really like your selection of photos. Very nice! You have moved from beginning to intermediate and now you are about to be advanced. LOL For real. Just remember to still talk to us little people after you are rich and famous someday. ;)

Ahhhhh… right. Rich and famous someday? Really? Why would you think that? LOL I’m just bein’ me. I think as an author, my only real shot at fame would be if my books went “viral”. Would you read my book(s)? http://www.angelfire.com/poetry/roseman/books.html Do you think some day someone already famous like Oprah, or Alyssa Milano would “promote” my books for free? I’m not going to hold my breath waiting, but can you imagine? What about your business, your blogs? How can we get them in front of everybody? Do you pay for ads in traditional media or do you just depend on the internet? Who has money these days to really advertise something? Not me.

One remembers that life is expensive, however different people need money for different issues and not every one earns big sums cash. Thus to get some home loans or just term loan would be a correct solution.
