How To: Handle a Parking Douchebag and Keep Your Sanity

Yesterday when I was at the market, I was driving my very small car which fit nice and neat into a parking space for compact cars. A few seconds later, a huge suburban pulled into the compact car parking space next to me and it was such a tight fit that the driver hit my door when he got out.

What do you do in that situation? I can think of several options, you can scream obscenities at the person, you can dump battery acid on the hood of their car, or you can start doing what I’m going to do which is to put a notice from youparklikeanasshole.com under their windshield.

According to http://www.youparklikeanasshole.com, “Simply download a notice and place it on the car’s windshield. The owner of the vehicle will be informed of their asshole status as well as the proper tips to improve their poor parking techniques. It’s time to put an end to asshole parking, or at least to make fun of it.”

One of the funniest parts of this website is the hate mail that they get, which of course, they proudly display for everyone to read. Wow, people are really sensitive about their parking! Here are a few photos from the “You Park Like an Asshole” Flickr stream which is updated weekly. You can check out the extensive collection of douchebags at http://www.flickr.com/groups/93742085@N00/pool/.

while I am pretty anal about parking, I am paralyzed so I really hate people that park in handicap spots, when they are all full I have to park all the way in the back and take up two spots just to be able to get out of my car. I even feel bad about this. I don’t get the idiots that just don’t give a shit and park like an asshole.
