How To Hack An Umbrella

umbrella-lamp-hack-concept-lighting

Sometimes I think all of us are a little bit too attached to our stuff. It makes us use our stuff so much until there is nothing left to do with it anymore. If that makes sense, surely you know there are a lot of things out there that have a second hand use. Probably everything does when I think about it. A milk carton can become a flower pot and boxes full of old and battered VHS tapes can become a geeky bookshelf. All we need is to have a little bit of imagination, and we should be able to create just about anything from stuff that we long have come to think of as just junk. This could also be called life hacking in a way, it depends on whether or not you make something that will help you in your daily life.

However, that is not what this article is about. It is actually all about how you can hack an umbrella. Do you think that sounds weird? It’s not really, it’s quite simple. Again, just put in some dedicated creativity, and you will find that an umbrella has multiple uses. It’s not just for keeping you from getting wet in the rain. Check out these umbrella hacks, and you might get some ideas. They are regular umbrellas that are turned into beautiful lamps in a whim.

These creations are put together by a whole lot of different umbrella hackers, but they all have one thing in common. For some reason I get a slight sense of a steampunk feel in some of these umbrella light shades. They could make a home light up with a really nice warm light that you just don’t get from a normal lamp. Depending on the umbrella, you can actually direct light into corners or spot it down onto a table which you want to highlight in your room. It’s a new way to put a twist on that interior design that you are planning, so get hacking. I am sure you can come up with some really cool and new approaches to lighting. An umbrella doesn’t only save you from floods from above, it can be used for far more than we can even imagine when hacked. Let the hacking begin!
