Hacker Tip | Hide Your IP Address

Are you safe on the Internet? Do you feel as all your personal information is secured behind a firewall on your computer? Well, thing is that you are not. As soon as someone has your true IP address they can find out just about everything about you. Even down to the exact street your at right when you’re surfing the web. Hackers can use your IP address to create havoc for you not only on your computer but on the net as well. How you might ask? Well, they clone your IP address perpetrating themselves as you when they do something they shouldn’t be doing. It’s a certain degree of the term “Spoof”. What the word means in the world of hackers is:

Spoof – A trick that causes an authorized user to perform an action that violates system security or that gives away vital information to an intruder.

There are ways to be safe on the Internet though. There are ways to hide your IP address for any hacker or website. If you know just a little about the Internet you can utilize this really great website that “Spoofs” another IP addres thus hiding your real one. Usually a hacker updates their IP address several times an hour just to make sure any trace they might leave behind is as hard as possible to track.

How you can do this is quite simple. Just watch this clip and you will be well on your way to a secure way of browsing the Internet.

Sometimes I’m bothered that my ISP’s firewall prevents a lot of BitTorrent connections. Enough usually get through that it’s not a problem though. On the other hand, I am glad that their security is rock solid due to the U.S. military contracts they have. All Norton found on my PC was some tracking cookies. Still, I’ll have a look at this site later on. These days you can never be too safe on the internet.

Torbutton has poor reviews in Mozilla.com that say it clashes with other add-ons and doesn’t work right.

Whatever tool you decide to use, it’s certainly a good tip. Thanks Rich!

Hello Richard, as promised here is my comment relating this post:

1. Tor is a great tool and offers more than what you mention on this post. It was and is one of the main tools used by (h)activists all over the globe (myself included) to provide internet gateways to people that live in countries where Internet connections are filtered and/or censored.

2. When you install Tor and given it’s network infrastructure layout user have to be aware of one really important thing: Your internet connection’s speed is going to drop dramatically. Why? Because your computer will be connecting to another computer, that connects to another computer and so and then finally connects you, via a gateway, to the website you want to visit.

Maybe this is a bit too geeky of a comment to post here but I thought I would let people know that if you use this tool please be aware of this.

Also be aware that while browsing on the web you will not be able to “reload” any page. You will have to go to the address bar and click enter.

3. In conclusion Tor is an amazing project. If you have a high speed Internet connection (I have a dw:50 Mbits / up:10 Mbits) Tor works great, almost seamlessly. If your Internet speed is not that good, Tor wil be more of a frustration that an added value to your experience.
Also if you do have a broadband connection that is very stable consider giving some of your bandwidth to those that need it the most: people that are not as fortunate as we are to live in a (almost) uncensored web space. If you want to know more please contact info [at] artists4freedom [dot] net or send a Tweet my way.

Cheers!

@May Please read my comment. The comments at Mozilla relate with mostly with people not really understanding how a relay service works. Also, if you really look at the data (one of the most important things to do these days when we suffer from information overload) most complaints are coming from some add-on developers or reps. I could hardly call that a balanced judgement.

If you have any trouble with tor just give me a shout on twitter and I will guide around :-)

I have attempted to write a comment here but every time I try it times out the comment or gives an error. Do you think someone could possibly look into why this is happening?

Some time ago, I really needed to buy a good car for my organization but I did not have enough money and could not purchase anything. Thank God my colleague proposed to try to get the business loans from reliable bank. So, I acted that and used to be satisfied with my secured loan.

It’s so easy to use and has amazing picture quality. The upload to the computer is actually hassle free as well as easy to use. With instant uploads from the computer to Facebook, it cannot be beat. I would recommend to anyone.
