Gummy Bear Chandelier | Sweet Glowing Nom Nom

Gummy Bear Chandelier | Sweet Glowing Nom Nom

It is quite apparent that people around the world are eating more and more sugar. That means more and more people are getting a sweet tooth that they just can’t shake. In the supermarket, the candy isle is growing by the minute and there is so much unhealthy stuff we bring home with us to put in our cabinets for those lonely nights in front of the television.

And you know what? That’s probably a good thing. My mother always used to tell me that everything is good for you in healthy amounts. Overdosing on the sugary stuff will only lead you to the bad. Simple as that, but who can blame us, right? Candy in general makes us happy, and it makes for a good snack when our blood sugar is low.

That’s exactly what the people at Jellio thought when they started dreaming up the ultimate chandelier. With an almost criminal love for Gummy Bears, they started creating what would become one of the sweetest interior design creations of our time. Created with over 5,000 freshly manufactured Gummy Bears, they started hand stringing those small cuddly creatures together. There’s no telling how long it took, but no matter how fast they did it, I am sure it will take less time to eat them up when you have a moment of gluttony one rainy evening.

The best part about it is that you can get your own one. All you have to do is to go to the Jellio website and order one, or actually email them and they will create one for you. There’s no word on the pricing, but I guess they will tell you that when you make your inquiry. Before you do it… make sure you’re hungry for 50 pounds of Gummy Bears!

Wouldn’t they start melting from the heat?

[Reply]

Richard Darell Reply:

Nope, the inside core light source is created by LED’s so the heat never reaches the poor Gummy Bears hung on strings. ;)

I love this! I’m a totally gummy bear fanatic though. Even the sugar free ones are really good. Just for fun, I emailed the company right now to ask them how much this is. I could hang it in my living room and when I want a snack, just stand up and peel one off the chandelier. Haha! ;)

Haha! If you get one then you have to take a picture of it! Let us know what it cost. I might want one for the studio. LOL Nom Nom

Haha! Ok, I heard back from the company, this is the scoop -

“The chandelier will truly be a one-of-a-kind piece. Only ten will be made,
but each one is a little different, so they are all unique. The 31″ diameter light has
approximately 5,000 hand-strung acrylic gummi bears, so each one takes close
to two months to complete. The price is $9,500.00. But with that, you can
get the artist to come to your location personally, to help set it up.”

Awesome!

I’m with Diana, I <3 gummy bears. The clear ones are the best! This would be dangerous. I, too, would be munching on my chandelier. :)

So, what happens when all the gummy bears are gone? You see, I could see that being a “problem” in my house… those little gummy bears wouldn’t last a day around here.

Oh! I forgot to mention that I e-mailed Jellio to find out how much one of these fabulous Chandelier’s cost and it is…..wait for it….

$9,500

But with that being said, the Artist will come to you personally and help set it up!

If I had the extra cash I’d definitely get one; they’re so cool!!
