The plan is to have application run via the cloud also, which would allow you to have all your normal user experiences. I”m a mac fan girl, so I don’t see myself switching either, especially since it is notebook based. But then I’ve seen Google emerge to be a giant think tanks, so I’m curious to see what happen

I see Google OS as nothing more then a bare bones, cloud based, netbook OS. As it currently stands I can never see myself using it because the only thing I can do is surf the internet and check my email. And those are not the only things that I use OS X and Windows for.

Comparing Google OS to Windows or OS X isn’t fair at all. Google OS is a totally different thing that most of us will never use in serious capacity.

I’m using mac so I’m just looking from the sideline but making a better version than MS doesn’t seem so hard to me.

@djthistle, good point. they have had such a market share, we as consumers have just accepted what they have to offer, vs looking for something that will better suit our needs.

We may not see Google defeat Microsoft in OS market share but we will see Microsoft make a better OS in the years to come now that Google is breathing down thier neck. The consumers win with competition because it forces innovation.

Well Google have told us that ChromeOS is netbook only OS. Then it makes sense to only add a browser.

I think it’s a great OS, but only for Google enthusiasts. Those who use Gmail and all other Google services.

It it deadly simple, but yet effective. But again it is like only on a netbook. You can’t use it as a regular OS IMO!
