Geeky Star Trek Quilts For Snuggly Trekkies

Crafty Trekkies Star Trek Blankets

My friend @chloroformdays sent me a tweet yesterday to mention that he noticed we write a lot more about Star Wars than Star Trek on Bit Rebels. I want you to know, Cory, that we do not do that on purpose. We are huuuuuge Star Trek fans too! It’s all in the same geektastic family, right?

It just seems that for whatever reason more artists are inspired by Star Wars than Star Trek, and since we are fans of sharing inspiring designs and artwork, there seems to be more articles about Star Wars on Bit Rebels. However, I would like to change that. One of my favorite people to follow on Twitter is @JeriLRyan (Seven of Nine), so in honor of her and Cory, I went on a hunt today to find something really unusual and totally trekkie for all my fellow Star Trek fans.

I think I found something not only unique, but also completely cool. Now that fall is right around the corner, what could be better than getting all snuggled up with Sulu, Uhura or even Nurse Chapel? What you see below are handmade Star Trek quilts. The original Star Trek Series and Star Trek Voyager were always my favorites, and these blankets are not only beautiful, but they also feel nostalgic and bring back a lot of memories for me. These come to us from Etsy member Elliot McNally (aka TheAlligatorBride). She is a very talented fiber artist and science fiction quilter. You can see more of her designs on Elliot McNally. If you would like to purchase any of these, you can visit her Etsy store. They range from around $45 – $80 each. Dang, at that price, maybe I’ll get two!
