This is the generation when you can officially say that “geeks are in!” We were all introduced before to a society where outer beauty was very important. Then hit TV shows inspired by geeks like Glee and The Big Bang Theory gave society a new outlook about this group of people. Building a positive image about someone who’s really smart and geeky is a great improvement to our social norms.
Media also plays a very important role in building the “geek brand” and influencing people’s mindsets. Now even fashion has caught up with the “smart look” becoming popular. This allows you to go out on the street with big glasses, skinny jeans and patterned shirts with no shame or judgment. Truly the so called “geeks” and “nerds” of our society have gone a long way to prove that being smart is cool.
