Epic $60,000 Giveaway | Our Gift to You!

01/03/2010 - 5:00 pm By Richard Darell
Epic $60,000 Giveaway | Our Gift to You!

It’s a new year and this very site that you are browsing right now turns 7 months old today. Excited as we all are here at Bit Rebels, we decided to give back to our readers what you all bless us with each and every day:  Dedication and Inspiration.

For over a month we have been preparing this epic scale event in your favor. This giveaway represents $60,000 worth of goods from some of the leading services in each genre. We can all thank the wonderful and cool sponsors for their commitment and cherished gestures. As a thank you to them, please visit their sites to check out why they are the best in their field. Believe me, they truly deserve it!

This “Epic Giveaway” will end on the 23rd of January, 2010. We will then review every participants entry and select the most unique one for each prize. We will announce the winners on the 26th of January, 2010. The winners will be put in contact with the sponsors for delivery.

So what do you have to do in order to bring home one of these prizes? Well, it’s rather simple really. To be a valid participant in this epic giveaway all you have to do is to follow these rules:

Rules

1. Explain why you should receive a specific prize and what you would use it for in the comment area of this article. Also add the prize ID at the top of your comment. If a sponsor has more than one prize, be sure to specify which one you are interested in by typing “Prize: List specific prize“.  At the bottom of your comment be sure to include your twitter username.

2. Tweet this:

I just participated in @bitrebels Epic Giveaway for some free stuff! You can too! | http://www.bitrebels.com #EpicGiveaway

3. Add a link to Bit Rebels and the sponsor of the prize you have chosen on your site. Include “Link Added” at the bottom of your comment. This step is optional but adds to your chances of winning your favored prize.

So, what are the giveaway prizes? We are happy to announce that we have 28 different companies on board for this giveaway and their commitment is just outstanding. In the list of prizes there is everything from free business cards to free hosting services, free vector graphics to complete free website designs.  These prizes represent pretty much everything you need to start the year of 2010 off with a bang for your business.

We have two categories of sponsors. “Premium Prizes” and “Sponsored Prizes“. Both categories deserve your full attention but our “Premium Prizes” come from our valid sponsors of this site. These companies are the ones that unconditionally support the continued life of this blog.

Prize #17 Page.ly Free Service for Life

Where do I start? I will be at the WordPress Training hosted by Page.ly on Jan 16th, so wouldn’t it be appropriate to win his prize two days later… I would also use the free site to promote Page.ly and WordPress to Realtors in the Phoenix area. I host hands-on workshops, one of which is building a blog. What better way to promote Page.ly. Finally, have I said I would promote Page.ly? Thanks for the opportunity, and see you on Saturday 1/16…

Sorry my link is a weak-ass Blogger site. Just one more reason…. Thanks for the contest Richard and BitRebels.com!

Ooops – in my excitement I messed up. Pls delete my last post. Let’s try again…..:

I hope the fact that I screwed up makes my entry unique because my reason for wanting to win isn’t.

My first choice would be a Kindle from PageLime. I spend entirely too much on books and this would save me a fortune. Also, I know I should not admit that here but the other prizes were way-over-my-head technical.

I am freelance web designer and having a project management system in place would greatly reduce my workflow and allow me to give great service to my clients. Since I am a solo operation it’s can be difficult to manage projects and work on collaborations with with other vendors without the aid of such a great product.

PRIZE: #7 LayerOnline Hosting

I would LOVE to receive this prize as I am actually currently with LayerOnline and it would be great to try their platinum service out and full experience what they have to offer. I don’t make alot of money from my websites, they are just for hobbies and learning, but I would like to someday perhaps find a niche of my own I could comfortably fall into and and keep an active site running. And I know if I am to do that, I will need some horsepower behind my server hehe

#P11 License of activeCollab Corporate, even small biz would suffice.

All of us at Coconut Graphics have been looking at project management packages for the last 6 months, we just couldn’t decide between basecamp or active collab. Our preffered choice is now active collab since you can install it on your own server, amongst a host of other features.

Active collab will help us better manage all our projects as well as improving the way we serve our customers, improving workflow, manage support tickets. This software will also finally improve the way we track time for all our projects and staff.

All in all, winning this prize could not only save us heartache and grief by things slipping through the cracks, but also take our company to the next level in production and customer satisfaction, which in turn, makes our customers happy, and our staff happy. YAY!

In conclusion, Bit Rebels, you have honestly gone over and above the call of duty with this giveaway, its amazing you have pooled all of these resources together. All in all, we at Coconut Graphics love the cut of your jib, and cant wait to see whats next.

Great contest you got going. Surprised that you’re doing so much so quick for your readers.

If possible, I’d appreciate either one of those prizes. I am in the process of trying to set up a gaming news site dedicated to Japanese games and would love to have a custom WordPress template to use along with it. Don’t have a designer and my rudimentary design skills just aren’t cutting it.

As for the Kindle, do I need to say more? Who wouldn’t want one. I am more interested in the Kindle as a gift for my entire family to share. We all love to read and I definitely know it would be getting more than enough love from us.

Prize ID: Premium Prize #1, #15 & #26

This is a really cool contest! I could really use these prizes from a couple of different reasons:
1. To help promote my free breakfast for the homeless on Easter Sunday.
2. To help promote a new ministry venture that I am currently working on.

I RT the contest info & put on my Facebook page… http://www.facebook.com/maljr

Thanks!!!

I would dearly love to win ID: #P15 because I’m already a customer of HotCard, so I know I’m not angling to win some kind of shoddy freebie. They print great stuff, and I’ve used them for plenty of projects!

I curate gallery shows around Cleveland and have one coming up pretty soon, so I’m gonna need promo materials for the show!

Also, I’m relatively good looking, wicked smart, and I cast no shadow. All of these things should excite you beyond words, forcing you to numbly admit “Damn, this guy really deserves some stuff!” and put my name down as one of the winners.

Plus, I love you. I really do. Deeply. Passionately. And with a fervor that is only mildly legal.

*smooch*

Congrats on a fantastic 7 months guys and thanks for getting all these lovely prizes together. I hope 2010 brings you all the success you deserve!

I’m interested in the following prizes:
#4 from DPD,
#7 from Layer Online and
#26 from MOO.

If I am lucky enough to with one of them, this is what I would do.

I’m currently volunteering in Botswana, helping the Anglican Church with planning and communications. I want to help them communicate better internally, to share best practice between various projects, and to improve dialog with their partner orgnaisations. I also want to help share some of the good news stories coming out of Botswana, to help break down the misconception held in so many western countries that ‘Africa is a terrible country!’

My placement is self-funded, and the cost of living in Botswana is about the same as it is in the UK. Whilst I’m here I’m still raising funds to stay for the full year I’m signed up for. Winning any of these prizes will help me in doing that.

If I win #7 a year of free Platinum Plan hosting from Layer Online with a free new domain, I will move my blog to my own domain, and use all the handy widgets and little design bits I can’t currently use on WordPress.com. And because they’re the fastest, I’ll actually be able to work with it, even though my connection here in Africa is slow!

If I win #4, the Digital Product Delivery 30 Product Paid Plan (free for life!), I will put together collections of products supporters can download for a small donation. I’m thinking particularly of photo collections at the moment, but I can/will develop other things in the future.

If I win #26, 50 MOO business cards, I will have a sample collection of photos printed and photographed to give people ideas on what they can do with my photography. I’ll also have a link straight to MOO so all supporters have to do is click the link after they’ve downloaded my images and they’re all set to get their own MOO cards and stickers printed.

All the money raised from the sale of the collections (and the proceeds of affiliate sales) will go towards funding my time out here so I can stay for the full year. If I manage to raise more than I need, I will plough it back into the EEPs program, to help fund other volunteers in the future.

Although it’s not expressly stated in the rules, I suspect I can only win one prize. Any of them would be great, since what I’ve written above is my ideal plan for the next phase of my blog – and I *really* need to raise the money to finish my placement.

I’ve posted the links on my blog (http://bit.ly/8rHFbu), I’ve even included them in a post about my plans for the future (http://bit.ly/6Mlm2e), and of course I’m tweeting as this comment loads.

Once again, thank you so much for pulling all this stuff together. Good luck to all the other entrants too!

BitRebels – Epic is right. Very good of you to give away gifties on your birthday.

Snacktools (p#28) is just the tool for me to move my photos from Flickr to real website and use the PhotoSnack slideshow creator. It’s an honor to photograph a family, child or my own neighborhood and travels. I’d love to give families a lasting story using the slideshow feature. My favorite images are the shots I take when people are connecting and enjoying each other. Genuine and timeless.
I’ll have to find a web host too. LayersOnline looks (#7) powerful and fast. And I just started attending my local WordPress group so I can learn how to create my own blog. I’ll take your recommendation for using Mimbo ProThemes #8 so I can get my photography site up and running quickly. I need it to be beautiful and simple. The last time I did HTML was 1998 as one of the first web masters… It’s been years.

(Thank you for the Inkd recommendation!! I had a friend buy a 6 month membership yesterday for her marketing business. It saves so much time and $. They are so much more stylish than the other big stocklayout company. I’m going to use them for my logo!)

Just tweeted & put a link on my flickr site.

Epic! I would love a Kindle, it is brilliant and only became available in Europe last week, so they’re quite expensive. And the main reason I should have a Kindle is that I love to read but I am all out of space for my books, and I miss having something to read on the train to visit my parents.

1. Prize:
ID: Premium Prize #1 – Printfac3 International Co., Ltd or ID: #26 Moo

I am a freelance web designer and developer. I don’t have yet a stunning and unique business card that I can give to my potential clients. I’m always amazed with all the fabulous business cards posted all over the web. And I can’t find one here in our country who can provide excellent business cards (materials) like what I see on the web. Hope I can grab one.

Easy guys, easy. It’s no small task organising a competition like this, with so many prizes and sponsors, it’s no doubt a huge amount of work, ontop of their day to day activities. I’m just grateful they are holding this giveaway.

They will no doubt be working hard over the next couple of days organising the winners, so lets not be biting the hand that is potentially going to feed us some awesome prizes.

oh also, i forgot to give the link when i mentioned link added on my entry above…typical
