Embroidered Wonder Bread – Food Art

Embroidered Bread Art

My weird sh*t-ometer went into overdrive with this one. Exactly what would a person have to be smoking to get the idea to embroider bread? I dunno, but the more I look at it, the more I like it.

Yep, you read that right. Catherine McEver embroiders bread, Wonder bread to be exact. She uses colored floss to embroider scenes from nature onto the surface of the bread.

Since the shelf life of Wonder bread is about the same as a Twinkie, her artwork should last a lifetime. She has some pieces from four years ago that she says look just like new. I would have never thought of bread as the canvas for art. Nice work Catherine! I’d love to know how you got this idea, it’s so creative!

I think that is when you know you’ve tapped into a true passion. Whatever that thing may be, if you could do it all day or night long, lose track of time, ‘wake up’ ten hours later, and still thirst for more, that is a passion, and I feel like I’ve found that in my writing.” Diana also spends many hours each week assisting the homeless men and women in Atlanta.
