Don’t Die With Your Music Still In You

12/18/2009 - 5:00 pm By Diana Adams

As we enter a new year, we once again start fresh with new ideas, new goals and a new attitude about our future. As I reminisce about 2009, and all the ups and downs that went along with it, one quote from Dr. Wayne Dyer keeps repeating itself in my mind: Don’t die with your music still in you.

If there is one thing I’ve learned this year, especially with being as active as I am on Twitter, it’s that we never know how much a simple smile, a hello or even just a tweet might make a difference in someone’s day. We are all a part of such a wonderful community and we only get stronger as we continue to share and encourage one another.

If you haven’t shared your own creative talents with others, I want to invite you to do that. You know what your talents are. Whether it is a poem, a song, a story, a piece of art, or even a special photograph, share your creative gifts with as many people as you can and you will truly make a difference in the world. We need you and the world needs you, so don’t be afraid, just go for it!

“Many people die with their music still in them. Too often it is because they are always getting ready to live… Before they know it… time runs out.” – Oliver Wendell Holmes

This little boy is definitely letting his music out -

This video below, recorded 16 years ago of a Canadian girl named Severn Cullis-Suzuki at the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development is another profound example
of someone speaking from their heart and sharing themselves.

After publishing a small cookbook last year, she is now working on her new masterpiece, scheduled for publishing next year. “I could write all night long and not get tired of it. I think that is when you know you’ve tapped into a true passion. Whatever that thing may be, if you could do it all day or night long, lose track of time, ‘wake up’ ten hours later, and still thirst for more, that is a passion, and I feel like I’ve found that in my writing.” Diana also spends many hours each week assisting the homeless men and women in Atlanta. Severn Cullis-Suzuki – daughter of famed environmental activist David Suzuki, and clearly she has the same passion for environmental causes that her father has. Dsvid Suzuki is a Canadian icon, his daughter is also very well known as someone who cares very deeply about the environment.

and they’re local folks here in Vancouver =)

highly inspiring, Diana!

My brother used to sing Hey Jude when he was 6 six years old. LOL sooo cute!

The Girl Who Silenced the World for 5 Mins is worth watching again and again so we don’t forget. Stunned me into silence when I heard for the first time. Amazing speech. Gives me goose bumps still.
