I’ve always thought that perfume marketers have to be the most talented marketers in the world because aside from the scent and the packaging, all perfume is essentially the same, right? How does a company manufacture a perfume, decide it is going to be expensive and then convince the consumer that it is worth that price?

It all comes down to brilliant marketing. It has to be edgy, fresh and capture the attention of the right audience. Boudicca did just this with their perfume, Wode. The advertising and concept is bizarre and intriguing.

According to http://news.idealo.co.uk, “This fragrance explores the myth behind Queen Boudicca who is said to have worn cobalt blue tribal paint when going into battle and after being defeated by the Romans she killed herself by swallowing hemlock which is now an ingredient in the perfume. Hemlock is a poison, so it wouldn’t be such a good idea to swallow any of Boudicca’s new Wode perfume”

What’s the most creative part? When you spray this perfume; it sprays blue on your body and clothes, which disappears in a few minutes. It’s like disappearing body graffiti. It is provocative and strange, sexy and weird, all at the same time. It is exactly what sets this perfume apart from the rest.

By the way, Hemlock is known as the “suicide poison” which makes all this “blue blood” advertising that much more provocative. The icing on the cake is the very bold full screen movie on http://www.boudiccawode.com. I want some of this for myself. #dontjudgeme
